Why We Built This Site
Access in Virginia depends on both the record and its custodian. Roanoke Police holds incident and investigative material. The Roanoke City Sheriff's Office and Adult Detention Center hold booking and custody records. General District Court and Circuit Court clerks maintain separate case files. The Virginia Department of State Police, through CCRE and CARE, handles statewide criminal-history requests, while the Virginia Department of Corrections and the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry maintain their own systems. We bring the verified contacts, official portals, request routes, and known fee rules together without treating these distinct files as one database.
